TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has launched a scathing attack on the PSL after his side’s 3-1 MTN8 quarterfinal defeat to Stellenbosch on Sunday.
The German blamed the “disgraceful” pitch conditions at Danie Craven Stadium for his team’s struggles in their defeat to Stellies in the MTN8 quarter-final.
Ramovic was left fuming by the state of the playing surface, which was affected by heavy rain in the Western Cape recently. He also questioned why fans would bother attending matches if the pitches were in such a poor state.
You come to a game where probably a cow can break its leg on such a pitch,” said Ramovic.
The Galaxy boss questioned the league’s priorities, suggesting that prize money increases were irrelevant if basic matchday standards were not met.
“I asked myself of course how the PSL can allow games to be played in such field like this? Now, they increased the MTN8 prize money, they can increase until its R100 million, they have to start to fix the fields and not to allow my players, a professional team that can play on the field like this? It’s a disgrace, amazing again.”
Ramovic claimed the poor conditions made it impossible for his players to implement their game plan, forcing them to resort to long balls.
