Williams heading to KZN to join Downs

Former SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams will reportedly join his new teammates at Mamelodi Sundowns in KwaZulu-Natal today.

According to Soccer Laduma, an announcement will be made by both clubs within the next 24-hours confirming the 30-year-old Williams’ move to the Brazilians. The deal signed is for three-years with an option to extend for a further two-years.
Sundowns are in KZN doing pre-season and preparing for the Mangosuthu Legacy Cup.
Williams, who has spent his whole career at SuperSport and is also the Bafana Bafana captain, has always been regarded as one of the top shot-stoppers in South Africa and on the continent.
The Brazilians are not short in the goalkeeping department and Williams will have to fight for a place in the starting line-up with Kennedy Mweene, Reyaad Pieterse and Denis Onyango.
