Babina Noko head into the encounter looking to end a frustrating run against the Soweto giants after suffering three defeats against them already this season.

Pirates defeated Sekhukhune in the Betway Premiership before knocking them out of the MTN8 over two legs.

Sekhukhune head to Orlando where opponents have found it difficult to overcome the Buccaneers, having recorded 10 wins out of 11 in all competitions.

However, Zothwane believes his players should view the intimidating atmosphere as an opportunity to rise to the occasion rather than something to fear, particularly with a place in the semi-finals at stake.

“The intimidation will always be there because Pirates supporters believe no one comes out of there, but as coaches we prepare our teams mentally to know what’s at stake because they know what awaits them in the next round if they win at Orlando,” he told reporters ahead of the match.

The Sekhukhune coach insists his team will not approach the fixture with an inferiority complex, despite facing one of the country’s strongest sides.

“We are very confident because there’s no coach that approaches a game with Pirates or Sundowns with fear. We have to be confident in our approach and our players, and I believe our players are capable of winning that match.”

Zothwane also recognises that repeating the same game plan from their previous meetings would be unlikely to produce a different outcome.

“It can’t be played the same way. We have to change a bit,” he said.

With Sekhukhune showing encouraging form over their last six matches, the coach will be hoping his side can combine that consistency with the tactical adjustments needed to trouble the defending domestic heavyweights in order to secure a spot in the next round of the Carling Knockout.
