The new year brings a new chapter in South Africa’s top flight, with defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, looking to make up some ground on leaders, Bidvest Wits, while many would argue that the title race is still wide open with Orlando Pirates just three points off the summit, while Ernst Middendorp’s Kaizer Chiefs have put themselves back in the conversation after ending 2018 on a high.
Amakhosi’s mettle will be tested when they host Sundowns in what should be a jam-packed FNB stadium, while Bucs face Highlands Park in what should be a cagey affair as well, not to mention the KZN derby between Golden Arrows and Maritzburg United.
