Tshegofatso Mabasa is convinced that Orlando Pirates will get the better of Jwaneng Galaxy in their CAF Champions League second-round qualifier.
The Buccaneers were eliminated from the continental competition last season by the Botswana Premier League side in the same fixture.
Galaxy secured a 5-4 penalty victory after the two sides played out a 1-1 draw over two legs.
First up this time around for Pirates is a trip to the Botswana National Stadium in Gaborone on Saturday ahead of a return leg at the Orlando Stadium the following weekend.
Ahead of the upcoming fixture, Mabasa explained that the Bucs are “motivated” to make it to the next round.
He said in the Citizen: “A lot of people have been speaking about Jwaneng and what happened, but this is a new season, this a new Orlando Pirates, that manages to create a lot of chances and take their chances.
“So going into the game, we are very motivated, you know, this club deserves to play in the Champions League every season and not only play in it but to compete and that is exactly what we’re going out to do this weekend.
“It will be a difficult encounter, but we are well prepared for it.”
