The Scudetto race goes down to the wire

The race for the Serie A title between AC Milan and Inter Milan will go down to the final day of the season.

Milan currently occupy top spot with 83 points, while Inter are second on 81 points. In gameweek 37, both teams successfully overcame their respective opponents, Milan beat Atalanta 2-0, while Inter won 3-1 over Cagliari.

Milan’s destiny remains in their own hands. Boasting a better head-to-head record over Inter, the Rossoneri will be confirmed as champions if they avoid defeat in their trip to Sassuolo on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri need a win at home against Sampdoria and must hope Milan slip up to retain their title.

Looking at the strength of sides that each face, the advantage would go to Inter since Milan have to play Sassuolo who beat them 3-1 at the San Siro earlier in the campaign. The Neroverdi also managed to beat Inter there 2-0 back in February.

Milan are chasing their 19th Scudetto and first since 2011, while Inter are looking for their 20th.

Whoever comes out on top, it’s going to be a nail-biting finish to the Scudetto.
