Stellenbosch FC Run Riot in CAF Confederation Cup

Stellenbosch FC cruised into the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup with a resounding 5-0 victory over Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs in the second leg of the preliminary round at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday. This emphatic win, coupled with their 3-0 first-leg triumph, secured an 8-0 aggregate scoreline.

Coach Steve Barker made a few changes to his starting lineup, with Liam De Kock, Genino Palace, and Langelihle Phili starting over Athenkosi Mcaba, Jayden Adams and Devin Titus respectively.

Former TS Galaxy forward Bradley Mojela opened the scoring early in the match, capitalizing on a defensive error. De Jong and Sibusiso Dlamini followed suit with goals of their own, giving Stellenbosch a comfortable lead at halftime.

The second half saw more dominance from the Betway Premiership outfit, with Unathi Mdaka making a memorable debut and contributing a goal. Mervin Borji added to the tally late in the game, further emphasizing Stellenbosch’s superiority.

This victory sets the stage for Stellenbosch’s upcoming MTN 8 clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
