SINETHEMBA BADELA PART WAYS WITH MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

Mamelodi Sundowns DStv Diski Challenge team head coach Sinethemba Badela has reportedly announced his departure from the club.

This news comes hot on the heels of the exit of Rulani Mokwena.

Badela becomes the fourth coach to leave the Brazilians after fitness trainer Sibusiso Mahlangu, performance analysts Sibusiso Makitla and Dayle Solomons all parted ways with the DStv Premiership champions in recent days.

Mokwena has since been linked to Wydad Casablanca with Badela reportedly waiting in the wings to join the former Sundowns head coach in Morocco.

Badela led the Mamelodi Sundowns DDC side to a second-place finish in the DStv Diski Challenge last season but tendered his resignation on Wednesday, say iDiski Times.

The publication added: “Badela joined  Sundowns at the beginning of last season after he had a good campaign with All Stars FC, leading them to a top-four finish in the Motsepe Foundation Championship in 2022/23, in what was their first campaign after relocating to Gauteng before the status was sold to Black Leopards.

“Badela then took charge of the Sundowns DDC team and led them to a marvellous title chase, but they ultimately lost out to Stellenbosch FC on the final day of the season.

“This publication understands that Badela has submitted his resignation letter at Sundowns and will leave with immediate effect.”
