Sekhukhune United coach Lehlohonolo Seema and Linda Mntambo have claimed the DStv Premiership monthly awards for February/March 2024.

Seema, earning his inaugural DStv Premiership Coach of the Month accolade, has masterminded Sekhukhune’s ascent up the league standings. Since his arrival in November, the team have displayed an exciting brand of football, winning all five matches in February/March, netting 11 goals while conceding just three. 

The judging panel lauded Seema’s ability to instil an exciting and fluid style of play, guiding Ba Bina Noko to victories over Richards Bay, Golden Arrows, Royal AM, Moroka Swallows, and Orlando Pirates.

Meanwhile, Mntambo, making a triumphant return from injury, clinched the DStv Premiership Player of the Month award with a string of influential displays. Despite his limited appearances this season, Mntambo contributed three goals and two assists during crucial victories for Sekhukhune, securing his maiden monthly individual accolade in the league.

This historic feat marks the first time a coach or player from Sekhukhune United have claimed a DStv Premiership monthly award, underscoring the club’s burgeoning prominence.

In a separate recognition, Thabiso Lebitso of Orlando Pirates announced his arrival with a stunning long-range strike against rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby. His goal clinched the DStv Premiership Goal of the Month for February/March, edging out Teboho Mokoena’s thunderous effort against SuperSport United.

As a token of appreciation, all winning coaches and players will receive a trophy and R7,000 courtesy of league sponsors, DStv.
