Riveiro Raves About Man of the Match Saleng

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has showered praise on Monnapule Saleng after the winger’s standout performance in their 3-1 MTN8 victory over SuperSport United. Saleng was named Man of the Match for his goal and assist.

The Spanish tactician highlighted Saleng’s impact when he’s on form, and expressed hope that the 26-year-old can maintain his high level of performance.

“I think he [Saleng] did a good job. He’s a permanent threat when he’s in the right mood or when he’s in the right space.

“Yeah, so happy for the boy [Saleng] one more time.

“He’s giving us a lot and hopefully he can continue,” Riveiro added.

With his strike against Matsatsantsa, the Bloemhof-born man became the first player in the club’s history to score in the top eight for three consecutive seasons.

With this win, Pirates become the first team to secure a semi-final spot in this season’s competition, putting them in a strong position to defend their title.
