Richards Bay coach Kaitano Tembo admits struggles with Sinethemba Mngomezulu registration

Richards Bay coach Kaitano Tembo has explained why striker Sinethemba Mngomezulu is yet to play for the DStv Premiership club this season.

Mngomezulu was in the stands as the Natal Rich Boyz lost 1-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.

With the club in need of a striker, it was unclear as to why Tembo was not utilising his new signing.

But the head coach has now explained that there have been issues getting the player registered after his move from Stellenbosch where he netted four goals in 24 matches last season.

Tembo told iDiski Times: “There is still an issue with his transfer.

“I’m not so sure what it is, but he is not yet eligible for us to be able to use him and that is why you see he is not in the squad.”

Richards Bay are struggling for results and are yet to win a game in four attempts this term.

Tembo added: “The way ethic, the way we fought, we worked hard against Sundowns as a team.

“The same way we played against AmaZulu, like I mentioned. It is a little bit difficult that when we get into good areas, sometimes with a team like Sundowns and the quality they have, they get one opportunity and they take it.

“With us, we need to try and create more chances for us to be able to score goals and I think we are on the right track. Hopefully we will start scoring goals.”
