Kaizer Chiefs narrowly avoided defeat against TS Galaxy at Mbombela Stadium on Monday, thanks to a late equalizer from Ranga Chivaviro. This draw extends their winless streak to four matches, raising concerns about the team’s performance.
After the game, coach Nasreddine Nabi expressed his frustration with the team’s inability to convert chances and their overall performance level. He admitted that the team is not performing to the standards expected of Kaizer Chiefs, and that missed opportunities are costing them valuable points.
“We feel that we didn’t start well. The first 15-20 minutes, we were losing every ball, easy passes were lost, and all the duels were won by the opponent, which was very difficult for us.”
“We tried to make, around the 20-25th minute, a tactical adjustment, a slight change. Then we came back really good, but we conceded goals on set pieces, where we felt we were starting to come back into the game with more control and commitment,” said Nasreddine Nabi after the game.
“In the second half, we tried to push forward. Again, we were missing opportunities to score.”
“At the end, we tried everything to put more power and more risk forward.”
“Fortunately, we got the point, but we feel that we are very, very far from the level of a team like Kaizer Chiefs.”
“We need to work hard, we need to strengthen the team, but we’re going to do everything we can for the future games,” he concluded
Currently outside the top eight, Kaizer Chiefs are struggling to reverse their downward trajectory. Their last victory was against Richards Bay on November 27.
With only one game remaining before the end of the year, securing a win is crucial to avoid falling further down the table. Their attacking struggles are leaving them little room for error, and they need to find a way to improve their performances quickly to prevent their season from deteriorating further.
