TS Galaxy head coach Sead Ramovic praised his side’s character after claiming a 1-0 win over Swallows FC despite playing the last 25 minutes with ten men.
Augustine Kwem netted in the 35th minute before Ebrahim Seedat was sent off in the 65th minute meaning it was a nervy finale to the match for the Rockets, who showed plenty of grit and determination to hold on for the three points.
The importance of the victory cannot be overstated as Galaxy moved above the Birds and out of the relegation zone, with the latter falling down into the drop zone and having played two games more.
And Ramovic, who has done a magnificent job since taking over the reins from Owen da Gama lifting a side that looked dead and buried out of the drop zone and knocking Kaizer Chiefs out of the Nedbank Cup, hailed his charges’ fighting spirit.
“We played against a tough team and it was not easy against them,” Ramovic told SuperSport TV.
“It was not easy against them, but I have to give huge credit to my team for their performance.
“How we stuck together, how we fought for one another and also to my entire coaching staff as we worked as a team.
“We just have to keep going and we have 12 games remaining and it will not be easy as everyone can beat everyone in this league.
“We have to stay calm and humble and go into the next game well prepared and to fight for the next three points.”
