PREVIEW: English Premier League

Part two of a manic week of football is now upon us and so without further delay, let’s get straight into it! This weekend is of course headlined by the United and Liverpool clash at Old Trafford so look out for that feature preview!

Saturday 6 April

7/1 C Palace | Draw 4/1 | Manchester City 1/3 (13:30)

I know I’ve spoken a lot about Oliver Glasner and how he needs time…this is then one of those games where it’s a bit of a free hit. Nobody expects them to win, but they can be brave and try and play towards the system he would like eventually employ.

Back City to win and both teams scoring.

29/20 Wolves | Draw 5/2 | West Ham 17/10 (16:00)

West Ham surely need a result here more than Wolves do. I am curious to see how that effects the game, if West Ham become too expansive it might leave them vulnerable to the counter…

I don’t want to split them; I think goals might be order of the day though. Back over 2.5 goals here.

6/10 Everton | Draw 3/1 | Burnley 39/10 (16:00)

This is surely the game were Everton look to have a real crack from their really impressive defensive platform. Sean Dyche’s side have been desperately unlucky at times, and I think he could claim all three points here.

7/10 Aston Villa | Draw 29/10 | Brentford 33/10 (16:00)

I think Aston Villa can give a good account of themselves here. They play a Brentford side who (yes, occasionally come away with a result) haven’t really impressed toward the back end of this season.

I think the attacking prowess of the hosts will be too much for the Bees to contain. Back the home win.

15/10 Fulham | Draw 5/2 | Newcastle 16/10 (16:00)

Which Fulham side shows up here? That is essentially the question…they certainly have the ability to beat the Magpies, but their inconsistency this season has inevitably cost them.

I’m going to back both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals here.

21/10 Luton | Draw 26/10 | Bournemouth 11/10 (16:00)

Luton have already shown that when they play at home, they can frustrate just about anyone. Bournemouth have been really exciting to watch though, they will just need to ensure they get off to a great start and take away the hosts belief early on.

I’m backing the home win. Their attacking threat coupled with a fine defensive form, justifies the pick!

4/1 Brighton | Draw 32/10 | Arsenal 6/10 (18:30)

In truth, I am quite surprised by the price available on the home win. I don’t think Brighton is playing horribly at the moment, and in their fixture against Liverpool I thought they could have taken a few more chances and come away with something.

Nevertheless, Arsenal has been brilliant, and you have to side with the away win.

Sunday 7 April

56/10 Sheffield | Draw 4/1 | Chelsea 4/10 (18:30)

As I’ve said before, Sheffield will always give you 100% effort…I just don’t think they have the quality to take advantage of teams when they aren’t firing on all cylinders. Chelsea, however, is currently firing on most cylinders and I think they win this game.

If they were able to create this form earlier this season, it really would be a different conversation at the moment for the Blues.

7/20 Tottenham | Draw 42/10 | Nottm Forest 58/10 (19:00)

This could be a wildly entertaining game to watch! Forest is fearless in their attack and will want to have a crack here as well. Spurs on the other hand have shown repeatedly that they want to be really aggressive with the football and go forward at all costs.

I think the host have enough quality to win the game, but I would definitely throw in both teams scoring as well!
