Pieterse confirms Sundowns contract extension

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse confirms the club has extended his contract and he will be staying at Chloorkop for the 2022/23 season.

According to Soccer Laduma, the 30-year-old’s deal was extended by a year just like was done by Downs for the 2021/22 season.
Pieterse has been part of the Brazilians setup since 2018, when he joined from SuperSport United having also played for Kaizer Chiefs.
Though not playing regularly at Downs, Pieterse tells Soccer laduma he is happy to remain part of the team.
“I wrote a target list for myself and I feel like I am on the right track. There is still a long way to go, but I am setting small milestones and goals for myself to knock them down in the future,” Pieterse tells Soccer Laduma.
“To be honest, everyone wants to be playing regular football, but when you have the likes of Denis, Ricardo and Kennedy that you are competing with, makes it really challenging but at the same time very good.

“I am still signed to Sundowns and I can’t think about going anywhere. They’ve just taken my option in my contract. I just want to focus on giving my best to the team.

“There have been some crucial games that they have given me, so it’s a sign that the coaches do trust me and they have mentioned that they see me as one for the future. It’s about applying that confidence and moving forward into the next season,” Pieterse adds.
