PATRICK MASWANGANYI: IT DOESN’T GET ANY EASIER FOR BUCS

Orlando Pirates midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi expects games to only get tougher for the second-placed chasing DStv Premiership side.

Orlando Pirates midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi expects games to only get tougher for the second-placed chasing DStv Premiership side.

The Buccaneers are currently in fourth place on the league standings with 29 points from 18 games, two points adrift of Cape Town City and SuperSport United.

They most recently recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Polokwane City and next face struggling Cape Town Spurs at home on Wednesday ahead of taking on rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby at the weekend.

Reflecting on the narrow win over Rise and Shine, Maswanganyi explained that there are no easy games left for Bucs.

He said in the Citizen: “It was a great effort from everyone, I think we started the game slowly. But that’s something we can work on going to the next game.

“I think there are lots of games that are going to be tough for us.

“I mean coming here (to Polokwane) it wasn’t easy. Playing away from home is always tough, but we managed to get one goal to win the game, it was a very important result.”
