Orlando Pirates boss Jose Riveiro was forced to admit that his side again under performed, in their Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final defeat to Richards Bay.
The two DStv Premiership sides played out a goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, wiith Bucs losing 5-4 in the subsequent penalty shootout.
Pirates had lost their previous league game, 2-1 to Cape Town Spurs, after two successive draws.
Scoring has been a problem for Riveiro’s side recently, and after the weekend’s game, the Bucs boss was at pains to explain why.
He told SuperSport: “It is not easy to explain, for 120 minutes we were on the ball, and trying but not scoring.”
Riveiro’s side have been excelling in the cup competitions, and alrady beat Mamelodi Sundowns on penaltes to win the MTN8 this season.
The Bucs boss added: “Going to penalties, today we were not the lucky ones.
“Congratulations to Richards Bay and we will think about the next one as soon as possible.
“There are not many things we can do better, it is about being a bit more confident in the last metres (of the pitch).
“It is the same old story, I don’t want to repeat myself. As I said a few weeks ago we are doing a lot of things well but so far it is not enough to win games.”
