Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro hails Zakhele Lepasa impact

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has lauded the impact that Zakhele Lepasa has made since his switch to the DStv Premiership club.

Lepasa was on target after just nine minutes of Pirates’ 2-0 league win over Cape Town City at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.

Patrick Maswanganyi added a second goal on 75 minutes to secure the result and leave Bucs in fourth place on the standings with seven points from four games.

Lepasa has now scored six goals in five matches in all competitions.

Riveiro explained that his in-form striker is not only scoring but helping create chances for his teammates.

The head coach said on FARPost: “You can see that he is in a good space, and we just have to try and continue with that [creating chances].

“That is why the forward [Lepasa] is scoring, and that is why maybe the goals this season are a bit more spread within the group even though Zakes is in a very good moment of form.

“Whoever is playing there [forward position], whether it is Zakes or somebody else, they are lucky. If you see the players that are playing behind them, I think they [strikers] will have a lot of fun.”
