Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has raised concerns despite their CUFA Cup win over Marumo Gallants, clinched 4-3 on penalties after a goalless 90 minutes.
While the win secured Chiefs the inaugural CUFA Cup, Nabi was far from satisfied with his team’s performance, particularly their missed chances during regular play.
Speaking on SABC Sport, the Tunisian coach highlighted the lack of clinical finishing, drawing comparisons to previous matches.
“We created a lot of opportunities, like in the game against Sundowns, but we didn’t capitalise.
“This is a big problem,” he said, making it clear that he expects better from his squad.
Nabi also emphasised his desire for a winning mentality, even in friendly matches. “I don’t believe in friendly games. I want to win every game, no matter the occasion.
“If we lose, it’s a problem for me. I don’t sleep,” he added, underlining his competitive mindset.
Looking ahead to the Carling Knockout clash against SuperSport, Nabi hinted at the need for reinforcements.
“We still need to recruit, honestly,” he admitted, stressing the importance of bolstering the squad for the season ahead.
