Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka believes their game against Polokwane City on Saturday will be “tricky” encounter as you never know what to expect from the Limpopo outfit.
The Amakhosi go into the clash having not won in their last two league games, a 1-0 loss to Cape Town City before playing to a 1-1 draw in the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates.
Rise and Shine will be on a high having played to a 1-1 draw against defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns in midweek, however they have also only won once in their previous four games.
Maluleka though was cautious when speaking about Saturday’s opponents, saying: “It’s always tricky playing Polokwane City, you never know what to expect.
“We respect them but we know that if we can play the kind of football we have been playing recently, then we can put ourselves in a position to win.”
A victory would take Chiefs up to fifth in the standings and the 30-year-old Maluleka says the Glamour Boys have not given hope of winning the league title.
Maluleka continued: “It is a very important game, getting three points will mean we are still within reach of the title chasers.
“We owe it to ourselves and the supporters to try and get the three points.”
