Lebogang Manyama returns to Cape Town City in new coaching role

Cape Town City FC have bolstered their technical team with the appointment of former midfielder Lebogang Manyama as assistant coach.

Manyama took the Premier Soccer League (PSL) top-flight by storm in the colours of City. During the 2016/2017 season, the silky playmaker was voted PSL Player of the Season as he registered 16 goals and 12 assists in that season for the Mother City outfit.

Manyama left Chiefs at the end of last season and was given a lifeline by City but due to a chronic knee injury had to make the call to hang up his boots.

However, he will still be very much involved with the club as head coach Eric Tinkler’s right-hand man.

“Cape Town City are delighted to confirm the appointment of former club captain Lebogang Manyama as an assistant coach in Eric Tinkler’s technical team,” read a statement on the club’s official Twitter account.
