Kaizer Chiefs Strengthen their Squad With Two New Signings

Kaizer Chiefs continued to bolster their squad heading to the start of the 2024-25 Betway Premiership with two significant signings.

Amakhosi have reunited with Njabulo Blom who left the club to join America’s Major League Soccer side St. Louis City where he was featured in 45 matches. He returns to Chiefs on a one-year loan deal.

“I am delighted to be back at Kaizer Chiefs, a Club that holds a special place in my heart,” he said, “and I look forward to working with the team and contributing to our success under Coach Nasreddine Nabi. The support from the fans has always motivated me, and I can’t wait to play in front of the Khosi nation again,” said Blom.

Kaizer Chiefs’ Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. expressed his excitement about the reunion adding that his experience from abroad will be of great value for the club.

“We are excited to welcome Njabulo back to the team. His experience in the MLS and his familiarity with our Club ethos make him a valuable addition to our squad. We look forward to seeing his impact on the field because we know how valuable he is to our game model.”

The Soweto giants had been in search of a left-back for a while after parting ways with Sifiso Hlanti but were unsuccessful in acquiring the services of Stellenbosch FC’s Fawaaz Basadien and Riaan Hanamub from AmaZulu.

They signed Bongani Sam who picked up a long-term injury before the start of the season and Edmilson Dove also suffered an injury during pre-season camp.

Chiefs turned their attention to Lamontville Golden Arrows’s Bradley Cross who turned out to be their sixth signing for the season and is expected to solve their defensive woes, especially in the left-back position.

Kaizer Motaung Jr. said: “Bradley’s signing aligns with our strategic vision of continuing to strengthen our team and get ready compete when the season starts.”

“We are confident that his addition will bring a new level of energy, international experience and skill to our squad. We look forward to seeing him in action and contributing to our success.”

Nasreddine Nabi earlier added Fiacre Ntwari, Rushwin Dortley, Gaston Sirino and Inacio Miguel to his set-up and we look to see if the club can do better than last season.
