Kaizer Chiefs will face TS Galaxy on Monday, looking for their first win in three Betway Premiership games.
Nasreddine Nabi has endured a difficult start to his Amakhosi career with his team in ninth place on the standings with three wins from their opening eight games.
Chiefs last defeated Richards Bay 2-1 in November but have since drawn 2-2 with struggling Royal AM and lost 2-0 to an in-form Polokwane City.
Galaxy are enjoying a renewed run of form under new head coach Adnan Beganovic, beating Sekhukhune United 3-1 and AmaZulu 1-0, either side of a 1-1 draw with Polokwane, to sit in third place with 18 points – seven points better off than their upcoming opponent.
Rockets forward Sphiwe Mahlangu spoke to the Sowetan ahead of the game. He said: “The game against Chiefs gives us a chance to increase our chances of getting into the top eight before this year ends.
“It’s a game that’s going to be difficult because Chiefs are a big team and they’re eager to bounce back after losing against Polokwane.”
Nqbi welcomes back a number of players for this tie, with the club confirming in a statement: “Chiefs will be happy to have defender Reeve Frosler back from suspension after serving his two-match ban.
“Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s headache will be the recovery of some of his players who have been sidelined by injury.
“They include Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Dillan Solomons, and Bradley Cross, who was substituted after a vicious tackle in Sunday’s game against Polokwane City.”
