Kaizer Chiefs will look to return to winning ways in their first-ever clash against Magesi in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday.
Amakhosi started their campaign under new head coach Nasreddine Nabi with wins over Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu ahead of defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
They then thrashed SuperSport United 4-0 in their Carling Knockout Cup clash before losing 1-0 to the same opponents in the league last time out.
Magesi, meanwhile, have one win from their opening five league games of their first season in the South African top-flight, beating Golden Arrows 1-0.
They also recorded a shock 3-2 victory over Orlando Pirates in the last 16 of the cup before holding Cape Town City to a goalless draw.
Speaking after picking up their fifth point of the season on Sunday, coach Clinton Larsen explained how his side is progressing.
He said on SuperSport: “We anticipated very difficult game against a quality team and I warned my players before arriving here that it’s never easy to leave here with a point, yet alone three, but I also knew that our defensive shape has been improving game by game.
“It’s something that we’re going to have to survive on this season, without the quality other teams do have.
“Our organisation and fighting spirit is going to have to carry us through a lot of games.
“That is our fifth point in five games, and we’ve got 25 more points to fight for to reach our target as a club, and then we’ll take it from there.”
Nabi, meanwhile, issued a warning to his team after going down to SuperSport.
He said on SABC Sport: “The only thing is that we had some issues, especially in the first half on the left side because we always attacked on the right side and the left side didn’t do enough. We tried to make some changes in the second half but we want our players to learn from today.
“In the first half we believe that we could have easily killed the game, we had the control first 15, 20 minutes, and we were too relaxed. We had easy chances that we could have scored, it’s a tough loss to swallow but we want this game to be a learning curve for our young players.”
Chiefs will be without injured Venezuelan midfielder Edson Castillo for this tie as well as the suspended Inacio Miguel.
