Richards Bay coach Kaitano Tembo admits it was a relief to pick up a first win of the new DStv Premiership season.
The Natal Rich Boyz had managed two draws, alongside three losses before overcoming Swallows away from home last Friday.
A single goal from Justice Figuareido on 55 minutes was enough to claim all three points, from a Dube Birds side in third place on the league standings, with three wins from their six league ties.
But instead of building on their first win with another positive result, Tembo’s charges went down 2-1 to Chippa United on Tuesday.
After taking a 28th minute lead through Sanele Barns, it was the Chilli Boys who came up trumps, with Elmo Kambindu bagging a brace, with goal in the 32nd and 79th minutes.
After beating Swallows, Tembo exclaimed: “Obviously it is a huge relief.
“But like I said earlier on, in football you are as good as your last game.
“If we can get three wins under our belt, we can move ourselves away from where we are at the moment because nothing has changed. We are still second from bottom, we still need more points.
“Although this is a good result for us, at the same time it puts us under pressure to win the next one.”
