Gameweek 22 of the Serie A sees another exciting full set of fixtures to look forward to, and with things getting tight at the top and bottom, it does make for an exciting watch! Let’s get straight to it.
Saturday 15 January
Sampdoria 17/10
Draw 22/10
Torino 16/10
(16:00)
Sampdoria are winless in their last four games; they host a Torino side who come into this on the back of a 4-0 victory against Fiorentina. With Torino eight points above the hosts, they are worthy favourites in this game. However, with Sampdoria being at home, they should make it quite difficult for their opponents. It promises to be a tight encounter and for that reason, I am going with additional totals: under 2.5 at 17/20.
Salernitana 54/10
Draw 7/2
Lazio 9/20
(19:00)
Salernitana got the year off to a flyer when they beat Verona 2-1, they now face a Lazio side who just went down to Inter in their last game. With Salernitana pinned to the bottom of the table, Lazio should really get the better of them here. Include the away win in all multiples.
Juventus 4/10
Draw 22/10
Udinese 31/20
(21:45)
Juventus turned a 3-1 deficit into and 4-3 win against Roma last time out, and now face an Udinese side that lost 6-2 to Atalanta. With Juventus coming into this high on confidence, they should really wipe the floor with a lackluster Udinese side. Back the home win.
Sunday 16 January
Sassuolo 12/10
Draw 51/20
Hellas Verona 2/1
(13:30)
Sassuolo won their last game in emphatic fashion, winning 5-1. They face a Hellas Verona side who come into this off a defeat to bottom-of-the-table Salernitana. With one point separating both teams, it should really be a tight contest. I, however, am going with the home win in this encounter.
Venezia 17/10
Draw 49/20
Empoli 15/10
(13:30)
Venezia hosts Empoli in this clash. Empoli have done well so far this season and face a Venezia side who are 11 points beneath them on the table. With both teams looking to get back to wining ways, this does promise to be a tough encounter, and for that reason, I am tipping the half-time draw at 16/10.
Roma 7/20
Draw 4/1
Cagliari 6/1
(19:00)
Jose Mourinho’s troops have an opportunity to get their campaign back on track after disappointing losses against AC Milan and Juventus. These losses will be a reality check for Roma, they will look to respond in this match by thrashing Cagliari, who have just two wins this season and seem destined for the drop. I am tipping Roma and Over 2.5 at 19/20.
Atalanta 39/20
Draw 26/10
Inter Milan 5/4
(21:45)
Two in-form teams looking for nothing less than a win, this match promises to be one of the standout games this season, with both sides showing great form in front of the goal. Filippo Inzaghi will prepare his men for a high-pressure game, but Inter should be wary of Atalanta’s threat in front of goal, as they are the third highest-scoring team in the league. It will be a tight match, but Inter’s experience of winning the Scudetto last season may get them the win. Inter to win, both teams to score is the way to go at 11/4.
Monday 17 January
AC Milan 1/3
Draw 42/10
Spezia 7/1
(19:30)
Milan needs this win to keep the pressure on log leaders Inter. They’ve been scoring goals for fun in their last three games, getting 10 and only conceding three. Spezia, on the other hand, has the second leakiest defense in the league and is just above the relegation zone. Expect Milan to steamroll Spezia.
Bologna 28/10
Draw 5/2
Napoli 19/20
(19:30)
Napoli’s fluctuating form could be their downfall this season. With two wins in their last five, Bologna will feel like they can get something from this game, especially on the back of a confidence-boosting 3 – 0 win against Sassuolo late in December. The Blues still have the upper hand though and will enjoy playing against a team that will come at them at times. Back the away side at 19/20.
Fiorentina 5/10
Draw 34/10
Genoa 52/10
(21:45)
Fiorentina went into the festive break in December as one of the most in-form sides in Serie A. They were thrashed 4-0 by Torino in their first match in 2022, something that will give Genoa, who desperately need points, a gleam of hope to get something from this game. After 21 games played, Genoa still has just one victory and nine draws. Mathematically speaking, they can still survive the drop but their recent results suggest the writing is already on the wall. The hosts are tipped confidently.
TREBLE @ 7/1
Lazio Win 9/20
Fiorentina Win 5/10
Inter Milan Win + BTTS 11/4
