The penultimate round of the 2019/20 German Bundesliga is upon us and there’s some great value on offer with all of the games played on Saturday at 15:30 (SAST)
Standings provided by Sofascore LiveScore
Saturday 20 June
Bayern Munich 1/4
Draw 11/2
Freiburg 17/2
(15:30)
Bayern won their last 11 league appearances to claim the Bundesliga title but I have a feeling they will rotate their side here, bar Robert Lewandowski, who is chasing the Top Goalscorer crown. Freiburg have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five league fixtures, but away from home, they have drawn four and lost two of their last six. I can’t take 1/4 on a Bayern Win and 6/10 to win on the Handicap as well, so if he starts as I think he will, Robert Lewandowski to Score First at 19/10 is my play. This should be an open encounter, so Both Teams to Score + Over 2.5 Goals at 8/10 looks the safest bet though.
Leipzig 13/10
Draw 26/10
Dortmund 37/20
(15:30)
RB Leipzig have drawn five and lost eight of their last 13 league appearances, strangely drawing the last five at home. Dortmund have looked disinterested, since losing 1-0 at home to Bayern Munich which ended their title hopes, being summed up by their 2-0 home defeat to Mainz on Wednesday. RB Leipzig to win at 13/10 is my fancy but RB Leipzig to Score Over 1.5 Goals at 17/20 looks the right call. RB Leipzig to Win and Both Teams to Score at 5/2 looks the value play.
Hoffenheim 6/10
Draw 32/10
Union Berlin 17/4
(15:30)
Hoffenheim have played well under their new manager Alfred Schreuder, while they have won three, drawn two and lost one of their last six league appearances. Union Berlin have won their last two league games, which has maintained their Bundesliga status and I think they will rotate their squad here. I fancy Hoffenheim to Win but 6/10 is a bit skinny and so is the -1 Handicap at 13/10. Hoffenheim to Win and Both Teams to Score at 7/4 is my value call. Hoffenheim to Score Over 1.5 Goals looks a gift at 6/10 but I’m a glory hunter, so Over 2.5 Home Goals at 15/10 is my play.
Fortuna Dusseldorf 9/10
Draw 26/10
Augsburg 28/10
(15:30)
Fortuna are in relegation trouble but their 2-2 Draw at RB Leipzig on Wednesday and their 1-0 loss at home to Dortmund last Saturday were impressive performances and will give them confidence here. Augsburg are safe, while their last eight away league games has seen two wins and six defeats. I am going for Fortuna Dusseldorf to win at 9/10, even though the pressure is on them and I hope they don’t choke. Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half at 43/20 is the value call.
Hertha Berlin 38/10
Draw 32/10
Bayer Leverkusen 13/20
(15:30)
Despite playing well, Hertha have lost their last three league matches but at home, they have won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four. Bayer Leverkusen have performed better away from home lately, winning four and drawing two of their last six outings. I think this is going to be a goal-fest, so Both Teams to Score + Over 2.5 Goals at 15/20 looks the right way to go. Over 3.5 Goals at 23/20 will have my money and Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half at 7/4 will see me invest again.
Mainz 31/20
Draw 5/2
Werder Bremen 33/20
(15:30)
Mainz unbelievably beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 away in midweek, but while they are almost safe, they have lost their last three home league matches – without scoring a goal. Werder played great, despite losing 1-0 at home to champions Bayern Munich and while they have won their last three away league outings, the pressure is on them here, as they could be relegated with a defeat. This should be a tight game but while I fancy Werder Bremen to win at 33/20, Under 2.5 Goals at 11/10 looks the right call. In a fixture, where anything can happen, Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half at 18/10 is worth looking at as I expect a nervy first half. I am going to have an interest on a Red Card around 7/2.
Schalke 39/10
Draw 29/10
Wolfsburg 13/20
(15:30)
Schalke have drawn six and lost eight of their last 14 league fixtures, while drawing three and losing four of their last seven at home, but they have played well in the last two matches. Wolfsburg, who are hanging onto a E/L Spot on goal difference, have won five, drawn one and lost one of their last seven away league games. A Wolfsburg victory at 13/20 is not for me as they tend to sit tight in the first half and then go for it in the 2nd, so I would rather go Draw/Wolfsburg at 7/2 in the Half-Time/Full-Time Market. Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half at 23/10 is the value bet.
Cologne 7/4
Draw 11/4
Eintracht Frankfurt 27/20
(15:30)
Cologne have drawn three and lost five of their last eight league fixtures, losing their last two at home. Eintracht have won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six encounters, while they have won their last three away from home. I am all over Eintracht Frankfurt here, so the Away win at 27/20 is my play. I will have an interest on Eintracht to win on the (-1) Handicap at 3/1 and the Eintracht to Score Over 1.5 Goals at 8/10 is also fancied. Andre Silva and Bas Dost to Score Anytime at 16/10 and 17/10 respectively will have my money as well but check first that they start.
Paderborn 8/1
Draw 5/1
Monchengladbach 3/10
(15:30)
Paderborn have drawn five and lost eight of their last 13 league outings and are relegated, while at home, they have drawn one and lost six of their last seven. Borussia Monchengladbach are in the hunt for a C/L place and thumped Wolfsburg in midweek, winning 3-0 at home, while they didn’t deserve to lose 2-1 at Bayern Munich last Saturday. Finding value is tricky but Borussia Monchengladbach to keep a Clean Sheet at 5/4 looks the right call, especially as this is a must-win clash. Monchengladbach to Win Both Halves at 14/10 will also have my money.
