Heading into round five, Leipzig are in pole position after holding Bayern Munich to a 1-1 stalemate. Borussia Dortmund and Freiburg are just one point off the pace and will look to keep the pressure on. That enough small talk, let’s get down to business.
Standings provided by Sofascore LiveScore
Friday 20 September
Schalke 7/10
Draw 29/10
Mainz 37/10
(20:30)
Schalke started the season on the back foot but have been excellent of late with two wins on the bounce, scoring eight goals and conceding just once. Mainz ended a terrible run of three straight defeats with a hard-earned 2-1 home win over Hertha Berlin last time out. Nonetheless, the Royal Blues should be too strong for them. Mainz have lost the last five meetings at Schalke. Back the hosts to bag all three points.
Saturday 21 September
Hertha Berlin 7/10
Draw 3/1
Paderborn 33/10
(15:30)
The only two teams without a victory will square off in a bottom of the table clash on Saturday afternoon. Hertha Berlin made a brilliant start to the 2019/20 campaign with a 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich but have since been dreadful with three losses on the spin. Paderborn have been none the better with their defending letting them down week-in and week-out. Schalke annihilated the newcomers 5-1 on their own turf last weekend and they will be desperate to turn that form around. Both sides have struggled defensively and will know that’s an area they need to work on. With that being said, the Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market should be backed at 29/20.
Leverkusen 3/10
Draw 9/2
Union Berlin 7/1
(15:30)
Bayer Leverkusen suffered their first defeat of the season in humiliated fashion last time out with Dortmund running riot at Signal Iduna Park, winning 4-0. Union Berlin will face an uphill battle following their 2-1 home defeat against Werder Bremen last weekend. The new boys on the block registered just three wins from 17 travels in the second-tier last term and are expected to struggle here. Bayer Leverkusen are tipped on the Half-time-Full-time win at 8/10.
Freiburg 19/20
Draw 26/10
Augsburg 26/10
(15:30)
Freiburg have been excellent with three wins from four matches, including a 3-0 thrashing of Hoffenheim last time out. Augsburg earned their first win of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Eintracht Frankfurt. That win would’ve given the team confidence to push forward and build on that. The last four meetings between these sides have produced 19 goals at an average of 4.75 per game. The Additional Totals – Over 3.5 Goals – market looks well worth a punt at 16/10!
Bayern Munich 1/8
Draw 15/2
Cologne 16/1
(15:30)
Bayern Munich remain unbeaten with two wins and two draws from four games, scoring 12 goals and conceding just four times. Cologne have lost three of their four matches and that doesn’t look likely to improve here. The Bavarians will go top of the standings for the time being with a win here and I wouldn’t put it past them to do it in style. Back Bayern Munich to Win Both Halves at 9/10.
Werder Bremen 31/10
Draw 31/10
Leipzig 15/20
(18:30)
Werder Bremen have been impressive in recent weeks with back-to-back wins and will be hoping to build on that momentum. Leipzig, however, are unbeaten at the top of the table with three wins and a 1-1 home draw against Bayern Munich last time out. Both sides are showing excellent form and are expected to find the back of the net. On that note, take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 5/10.
Sunday 22 September
Monchengladbach 6/10
Draw 32/10
Dusseldorf 39/10
(15:30)
Monchengladbach are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Cologne and will be eager to add to that. Dusseldorf are winless in their last three games and managed just four wins from 17 games on the road last season. This is undoubtedly my Bundesliga bet of the weekend with ‘Gladbach expected to dominate from the first blow of the whistle. The home win is tipped.
Eintracht Frankfurt 32/10
Draw 32/10
Borussia Dortmund 7/10
(18:00)
Eintracht Frankfurt have struggled to find consistency so far with two wins and two defeats after four matches. Dortmund have won three of their four games, including an impressive 4-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen last time out. BVB look the stronger team and are likely to keep the pressure on Leipzig with a win. The Black and Yellow Army are tipped to come away with all three points.
Monday 23 September
Wolfsburg 19/20
Draw 28/10
Hoffenheim 51/20
(20:30)
The Bundesliga’s first Monday night match of the season will see Wolfsburg play host to Hoffenheim. The Wolves are unbeaten with two wins but have drawn their last two games. However, Hoffenheim are off the back of a 3-0 drubbing at home against Freiburg. The last five meetings between these sides have produced 16 goals at an average of 3.2 per game. Get on the Both Teams to Score – Yes – market at 5/10.
TREBLE @ 4/1
Schalke Win 7/10
Bayer Leverkusen HT-FT Win 8/10
Monchengladbach Win 6/10
