Friday 30 August
Monchengladbach 23/10
Draw 11/4
Leipzig 21/20
(20:30)
Monchengladbach picked up their first win of the season last weekend after ousting Mainz 3-1 away from home. They face a tougher test in round three with Leipzig coming to town off the back of a 100 percent win-record, scoring six goals and conceding three times. The Red Bulls have won the last three meetings at Borussia-Park and will be looking to make it four-from-four, while leapfrogging to the summit. The hosts will be eager to earn their first win on home soil but Leipzig are far more organised defensively. Back the Red Bulls to edge this one.
Saturday 31 August
Wolfsburg 5/10
Draw 15/4
Paderborn 47/10
(15:30)
Wolfsburg have been excellent with two wins from two games, scoring five goals and conceding once, including a 3-0 drubbing of Hertha Berlin last time out. Newly-promoted Paderborn are on the opposite end of the table after suffering back-to-back defeats. Goalscoring doesn’t seem to be their problem but defending has been an issue. They will need to rectify that this weekend but Wolfsburg should still nick the win. The home team is tipped.
Freiburg 29/20
Draw 5/2
Cologne 7/4
(15:30)
Freiburg have started brightly with two wins on the bounce, scoring six goals and shipping just one. Cologne have lost their opening two games but have faced tough opposition. There is no reason to point to an away win but I just feel Cologne will adapt quicker and play a much more defensive game. With that being said, I’m expecting a low-scoring affair. The Totals – Under 2.5 Goals – market should be backed at 21/20.
Bayern Munich 1/12
Draw 19/2
Mainz 25/1
(15:30)
At 1/12, the bookmakers are screaming a Bayern Munich win and it’s a no-brainer after the Bavarians thrashed Schalke 3-0 away from home in round two. Mainz are looking fragile and ripe for the picking at the bottom of the standings. The last two meetings at the Allianz Arena have seen Bayern Munich score a combined 10 goals. Back the hosts to Win Both Halves (Yes) at 7/10.
Schalke 11/10
Draw 5/2
Hertha Berlin 24/10
(15:30)
Both sides are off the back of humiliating 3-0 home defeats and will be encouraged to attack the game and show more intent going forward. Neither team have picked up a win so both will be desperate to claim their first victory of the season. An end-to-end game of football is on the cards so it’s just a matter of how many goals will be scored. Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 13/20.
Bayer Leverkusen 6/10
Draw 36/10
Hoffenheim 15/4
(15:30)
Bayer Leverkusen are another team two have won both their opening games but have been less convincing with a number of defensive issues. Hoffenheim got their first win under their belt last weekend, which will give them loads of confidence heading into Saturday clash. They won both meetings 4-1 last term and will be looking to build on that. I’m backing Hoffenheim on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 13/10, get on!
Union Berlin 17/2
Draw 5/1
Borussia Dortmund 1/4
(18:30)
Union Berlin are yet to win a match, scoring just once and conceding five times. To make matters worse, they play host to the log-leaders this weekend. Dortmund have won both their opening games, hammering Augsburg 5-1 before beating Cologne 3-1. This one looks pretty straight-forward with BVB expected to bag maximum points. Back the away team on Half-time/Full-time Win at 7/10.
Sunday 1 September
Werder Bremen 7/10
Draw 31/10
Augsburg 7/2
(15:30)
Werder Bremen have suffered back-to-back defeats and will be desperate to get their first point(s) on Sunday. Augsburg also remain winless after being held to a dour 1-1 draw on home soil against Union Berlin last weekend. This one could possibly go down to the wire but home advantage should make all the difference. Back Werder Bremen to come out on top.
Eintracht Frankfurt 7/10
Draw 31/10
Dusseldorf 7/2
(18:00)
Eintracht Frankfurt are looking to improve on last season’s seventh-place finish. The Eagles impressed despite going down 2-1 at Leipzig last weekend and can take a lot of positives from that performance. Dusseldorf are off the back of a 3-1 home defeat against Bayer Leverkusen and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways. However, Eintracht Frankfurt should prove too strong on home soil. Get on the Eagles victory at 7/10.
TREBLE @ 11/2
Hoffenheim Win/Draw 13/10
Eintracht Frankfurt Win 7/10
Schalke vs Hertha Berlin BTTS 13/20
