German Bundesliga: Gameweek 14 Preview

German Bundesliga: Gameweek 14 Preview

Borussia Dortmund continue to dominate at the summit with Monchengladbach, Leipzig and Bayern Munich all trailing. The latter returned to winning ways last time out will be look to build on that but the Bavarians have been inconsistent to say the least this season, so who knows what team will turn up this weekend. Let’s find out what we can expect from round 14.

Werder Bremen 13/20

Draw 31/10

Dusseldorf 38/10

(21:30)

Werder Bremen have been dismal in recent weeks with four losses from their last five matches. Basement-dwellers Dusseldorf are without a win on the road, scoring just five goals and conceding 17 times. The River Islanders went down 2-1 on home soil to Bayern Munich last weekend, while the newcomers faced the Bavarians at the Allianz Arena in their last trip and earned a tough goalless draw. Get on Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 11/20.

Saturday 8 December

Wolfsburg 19/10

Draw 26/10

Hoffenheim 5/4

(16:30)

Wolfsburg have been brilliant in recent weeks with back-to-back wins, including a 2-1 victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt last time out. Hoffenheim are unbeaten in their last six matches with four victories. The last three meetings at Weser-Stadion has seen both sides find the back of the net. With that being said, take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 9/20.

Bayer Leverkusen 13/20

Draw 33/10

Augsburg 36/10

(16:30)

Bayer Leverkusen have been poor this season with just four wins from 13 matches. Augsburg have been dismal with three consecutive losses, scoring twice and conceding six times. Although the hosts have struggled to win matches, home advantage should give them a push in the right direction. It won’t be a walk in the park but I’m backing Bayer Leverkusen to utilize home advantage.

Freiburg 3/1

Draw 28/10

Leipzig 17/20

(16:30)

Freiburg are winless in their last four matches and have registered just three wins from 13 games. Leipzig have travelled poorly but have won three of their last four matches and will look to build on that. Three of the last four meetings between these sides have seen the Red Bulls claim maximum points. Follow the trend and take Leipzig to edge the victory.

Bayern Munich 1/12

Draw 19/2

Nuremburg 25/1

(16:30)

Let’s not look to deep into this contest. Yes, Bayern Munich have been lacking a missing component this season but the defending champions should have enough firepower to oust Nuremburg on Saturday afternoon. The newcomers are struggling on the outer skirts of the drop zone, winless on the road, scoring five times and conceding a colossal 22 goals. Back Bayern Munich to Win Both Halves at 13/20.

Schalke 22/10

Draw 51/20

Borussia Dortmund 23/20

(16:30)

Schalke have been excellent on home soil in recent weeks with three wins from their last four matches, including two victories on the bounce. Dortmund remain the only unbeaten team in the league with 10 wins from 13 games. The last six meetings have seen 21 goals at an average of 3.5 per game. The Totals market – Over 2.5 Goals – is tipped at 13/20.

Hertha Berlin 17/10

Draw 49/20

Eintracht Frankfurt 15/10

(19:30)

Hertha Berlin are coming off a 2-0 win away to Hannover, ending a run of six matches without a win. Eintracht Frankfurt fell to a disappointing 2-1 home defeat against Wolfsburg last time out, ending a run of three consecutive wins. The Old Lady’s victory last time out would’ve given them a much-needed confidence booster and I’m sure that will show against the Eagles. This one could go either way, but I’m backing Hertha Berlin to come out on top.

Mainz 19/20

Draw 5/2

Hannover 28/10

(16:30)

Mainz have been impressive in recent weeks with three wins from their last four matches, including a 1-0 victory over Dusseldorf last weekend. Hannover find themselves second bottom on the log without a win on their travels. They have lost four of their last five games, including back-to-back wins. The hosts are tipped to collect all three points at the Opel Arena.

Monchengladbach 9/20

Draw 7/2

Stuttgart 52/10

(19:00)

Monchengladbach might have lost 2-0 at Leipzig last weekend but return to their fortress where they have maintained a 100% win record, scoring 18 goals and conceding just three times. Stuttgart are placed in the danger zone with just three wins from 13 games. They have lost five of their seven matches on the road and I just can’t see that improving here. Take the Borussians on the (-1) Handicap at 11/10.

TREBLE @ 13/2

Leipzig Win 17/20

Mainz Win 19/20

Monchengladbach (-1) Handicap 11/10
