German Bundesliga: Gameweek 11 Preview

It was a great weekend with the Springboks lifting the 2019 Rugby World Cup after smashing England in the final, while yours truly also managed to turn a profit after correctly tipping the Bundesliga selected treble of the week valued at 5/1!

Monchengladbach stretched their lead at the top of the standings after Bayern Munich were humiliated 5-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt. And no, I’m not joking! Dortmund, on the other hand, hammered Wolfsburg 3-0 to leapfrog the Bavarians into second place. This sets up a mouth-watering round 11 which gets underway on Friday night.

Friday 8 November

Cologne 16/10

Draw 51/20

Hoffenheim 31/20

(21:30)

Relegation-battlers Cologne have been dismal with back-to-back losses, scoring just once and conceding five times. Hoffenheim have been absolutely brilliant in recent weeks with four consecutive victories. Hoffenheim completed the double over Cologne last term, winning 6-0 and 3-0. This is too much value to pass on, so back the away team to win at 31/20.

Saturday 9 November

Hertha Berlin 32/10

Draw 28/10

Leipzig 8/10

(16:30)

Hertha Berlin are winless in their last three matches, including two defeats on the bounce. Leipzig are coming off a thumping victory at home against Mainz, winning 8-0 to end a winless drought of four games. The Red Bulls have won the last three meetings against the Old Lady, scoring 14 goals and conceding just twice. The away win is tipped.

Paderborn 29/20

Draw 11/4

Augsburg 16/10

(16:30)

Paderborn are rock-bottom of the standings with eight losses from 10 games, scoring 11 goals and conceding 25 times. Augsburg are just three points and two places above their opponents and are without a win in their last six matches. This one should be as cagey as it gets with a low-scoring affair looking likely. With that being said, the Under 2.5 goals market is tipped at 37/20.

Mainz 12/10

Draw 49/20

Union Berlin 43/20

(16:30)

Mainz return home this weekend after a savage beating at the hands of Leipzig – going down 8-0 – making it their seventh defeat of the season. Union Berlin remain winless on the road, scoring just twice and conceding six times. However, the newcomers are off the back of a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Hertha Berlin and will look to build on that. Back Union Berlin on the Win/Draw Double Chance at 6/10.

Schalke 5/10

Draw 34/10

Dusseldorf 5/1

(16:30)

Schalke are coming off a thrilling 3-2 victory away to Augsburg, ending a winless run of three matches. Dusseldorf have been terrible on the road with four losses from five games, scoring six goals and conceding 10 times. The Royal Blues are unbeaten in their last four home matches and look decent value for money. Get on the home win at 5/10.

Bayern Munich 11/20

Draw 7/2

Borussia Dortmund 17/4

(19:30)

The match of the weekend will see Bayern Munich take on Borussia Dortmund. The Bavarians will return home licking their wounds after Eintracht Frankfurt absolutely demolished them 5-1, which resulted in the club sacking Niko Kovac. Dortmund are unbeaten in their last five matches, including ending Wolfsburg’s unbeaten run with a 3-0 drubbing last time out. Bayern Munich have won three of their last four matches at home but have not been convincing in recent weeks. BVB will look to rattle them early following their humiliating beating against the Eagles. The Black and Yellow Army are my value bet for the weekend.

Sunday 10 November

Monchengladbach 8/10

Draw 29/10

Werder Bremen 3/1

(14:30)

Table-toppers Monchengladbach have been excellent with seven wins from 10 matches, including back-to-back wins. Werder Bremen are without a win in their last six games with five consecutive draws and a defeat. This is probably my bet of the weekend. The Borussians are firing on all cylinders and should easily deal with the River Islanders. Back the log-leaders to claim maximum points.

Wolfsburg 18/10

Draw 24/10

Bayer Leverkusen 29/20

(16:30)

Wolfsburg tasted their first defeat of the season last time out, going down 3-0 at Borussia Dortmund. Bayer Leverkusen are winless in their last four games, including two defeats and two stalemates. Both sides will be desperate to get back to winning ways and are expected to attack the game from the get-go. Take Both Teams to Score – Yes – at 5/10.

Freiburg 18/10

Draw 5/2

Eintracht Frankfurt 14/10

(19:00)

Freiburg have been inconsistent in recent week’s but definitely have the quality to maintain winning form. However, Eintracht Frankfurt proved just how good they can be on their day last weekend – I know I mentioned this enough already – smashing Bayern Munich 5-1! That victory would have given the Eagles a massive boost of confidence and they will come into this clash with their tails up and hungry for more. Back the away team to win.

LAST WEEK’S TREBLE WON @ 11/2

Hoffenheim Win 5/10

Werder Bremen vs Freiburg BTTS (Yes) 11/20

Union Berlin Win 18/10

THIS WEEK’S TREBLE @ 6/1

Hoffenheim Win 31/20

Schalke Win 5/10

Monchengladbach Win 8/10
