SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt is excited to reunite with former player Vincent Pule.
The 32-year-old former Orlando Pirates winger played under Hunt at Bidvest Wits, where he scooped league and cup honours.
He was released by the Buccaneers at the end of last season after struggling for game-time, but was quickly snapped up by Matsatsantsa, on a one-year deal.
Reflecting on offering Pule a new lease of life at ambitious SuperSport, Hunt explained that the player is thoroughly loving his new environment.
Hunt told 974FM: “He is like a kid in the China shop at the moment, I said to him ‘slow down’.
“I signed him from African Warriors at Wits and he scored a goal in the Telkom Cup final, played a huge part when we won the league and top eight games. Then obviously he got transferred to Pirates, he had a good seven/eight good years there.”
Pule won two MTN8 trophies during his time with Bucs, playing 146 times, scoring 23 goals and assisting with 12.
“To get him back now still the same in terms of athleticism he can still run, he’s got good legs, pace, good delivery on the ball, strikes the ball well, can play multiple positions which is important for us,” Hunt added.
