February: Sundowns forces you out of your comfort zone

Goalkeeper Jody February

Goalkeeper Jody February says playing for a club like Mamelodi Sundowns is a test both mentally and physically.

The talented 25-year-old joined the Brazilians from Ajax Cape Town in 2019 before spending the following season on loan with Cape Umoya United in the GladAfrica Championship.

Last term he made the bench on just two occasions as he sits at the back of a long list of impressive keepers already established at Downs, including Denis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene, Reyaad Pieterse and Ricardo Goss.

February may well go out on loan again to secure some much-needed game time, and with time on his side, insists he’s up for any challenge.

He told Kick Off: “I think playing for Sundowns forces you out of your comfort zone.

“To test how strong you are as a man and not just physically but mentally as well.

“I think for me, it will be a good thing considering how young I am.”
