Still fresh from Varsity Football, where he turned up for Durban University of Technology (DUT), Nhlakanipho Ngwenya is preparing for a new life in the top division following his recent move to TS Galaxy.

The 21-year-old striker did not require much time to adapt to the new environment as he hit the ground running with a massive performance where he walked away as a joint Top Goal Scorer in the recent Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup.

Ngwenya described the move as a dream come true and a reward for his constant belief and hard work.

“I wouldn’t say I did or didn’t expect the move to TS Galaxy, but I’ve been pushing and kept on believing. I’m that kind of a person; I am a believer,” Ngwenya told Hollywoodbets Sports Blog.

Describing the performance in his unofficial debut for The Rockets, Ngwenya said: “I wouldn’t know how others adapt to their new clubs, but for me I’d give credit to my teammates. They made me feel at home from the first minute I got here, they made everything easy for me.”

Just like any other young striker, ‘CR7’ as he is affectionately known, aims to bag the Betway Premiership Golden Boot in his first season.

“I’d say my short-term goal is to be part of the Betway Premiership top goal scorers this season or even win it. But the long-term one is to be part of the Bafana Bafana 2030 FIFA World Cup squad.”

The pacey striker will look to make his official debut for the Mpumalanga side in their first fixture of the Betway Premiership against Siwelele FC at FreeState Stadium.
