AmaZulu tackle Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United take on Cape Town City FC in DStv Premiership action on Tuesday evening.
AmaZulu v Polokwane City
AmaZulu will be looking to turn around a disappointing run of form when they welcome Polokwane City to the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Usuthu are on a five-match winless streak and are in 12th position on the DStv Premiership standings – coming off the back of a 2-0 defeat to TS Galaxy last weekend.
AmaZulu head coach Pablo Franco Martin is dismayed by the team’s poor run of results.
“We’ve made mistakes that we’re not used to making this season that are not acceptable. Lack of concentration and communication,” said Martin.
Meanwhile, City are coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Chippa United at the weekend and are two places ahead of AmaZulu on the standings with 27 points.
The last time the sides met, the match ended in a goalless draw.
Sekhukhune United v Cape Town City
High-flying Sekhukhune United are looking to continue their impressive run of form when they host Cape Town City FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Babina Noko have won their last six matches in a row and are riding high in third position on the DStv Premiership standings.
Lehlohonolo Seema’s side enhanced their reputation with a 2-1 victory over Orlando Pirates in their last encounter with their eyes firmly set on possible CAF football next season.
“I think since the resumption of the league we have been working extremely hard as a team,” Sekhukhune star Linda Mntambo said.
“Now I think it’s five games unbeaten, five wins in a row and we keep grinding, working hard and focusing on the next game.”
Meanwhile, City have slipped to sixth position with losses to Stellenbosch FC and Royal AM followed by a 0-0 draw with Kaizer Chiefs at Athlone Stadium on Saturday.
“I wanted a better reaction from the team like I said to you before, I wanted better energy, desire, passion and I think in the first half [against Kaizer Chiefs] I saw that,” City coach Eric Tinkler said.
“You know the mind shifts it was extremely important especially after the games we played where we didn’t get the desired results.”
