Stanley Nwabali is expected to leave Chippa United ahead of the new DStv Premiership season.
The Nigerian goalkeeper attracted interest from a number of clubs following his heroics at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Nwabali played a major role in the Super Eagles’ run to the final where they ultimately lost to host nation Ivory Coast.
He also helped the Chilli Boys retain their top-flight status, with the club ending their season in 12th place on the league standings.
Now Chippa goalkeeper coach Sean Louw has confirmed that Nwabali will move on from his current employer.
He told FARPost: “On physical hard copy paper, I don’t know how many offers he has received. But verbally, he has around 10 or even 12 offers.
“He is definitely not coming back to Chippa next season.”
Nwabali has reportedly attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia, England, Belgium and the United States as well as DStv Premiership side Kaizer Chiefs.
“I don’t know if he’s going to make a move within South Africa. But my advice to him was, please go overseas,” Louw added.
“I have made him understand that football is a business, and he is a brand. He is not just a player. His brand needs to extend to the other side of the world.”
