CASRIC STARS SIGNS GIVEN THIBEDI

Given Thibedi has been handed a new deal by Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars.

The 26-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder joined Stars from Moroka Swallows on a free transfer in January 2023.

He was signed by the Dube Birds on a permanent deal after an initial loan period and had opted to depart after struggling for game time.

Swallows went through a number of coaches during Thibedi’s time at the club that was also punctuated with injuries.

He played 23 times for Stars last season to revive his career and is now looking to push on after signing a new contract, despite reports he has been suspended.

The player’s agent Ntobatsi Masegela told FARPost: “It’s quite a surprise that there are reports saying that Given Thibedi has been suspended by Casric Stars.

“We have never received any suspension letter for Given.

“Given and Casric needed to find themselves because his existing contract at the club had expired, so negotiations were ongoing.

“And I can tell you now that Thibedi has signed a new contract with Casric Stars. He’s in the future plans of the team for the new season.

“He’s very motivated, and he wants to add goals and assists to his game. The aim is to improve on his performance of last season.

“Given just needs to focus on his game and try to help the club to gain promotion to the Premiership.”
