Stellenbosch has reportedly clinched the signature of Lehlogonolo Mojela, beating South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates.
The striker drew significant attention after a successful season with TS Galaxy, where he scored seven goals in his first year in the DStv Premiership.
Stellenbosch acted swiftly to secure the deal, obtaining acceptance for their transfer bids for both Mojela and midfielder Thato Khiba. However, Khiba did not reach an agreement on personal terms.
The 27-year-old’s transfer to the Cape Winelands club involves a player-plus-cash arrangement, with Qobolwakhe Sibande moving to TS Galaxy.
Known for his versatility across the front line, Mojela is a significant addition to Stellenbosch FC. His pace and skill will be crucial as the club prepares for its debut in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The 2024/25 season is set to be exciting, with Stellenbosch aiming to make a mark in the prestigious competition.
Despite efforts from Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and Orlando Pirates to sign Mojela, Stellenbosch FC’s quick action ensured the deal was completed smoothly.
This transfer is a blow to the Big 3, who were keen to enhance their squads with Mojela’s talent.
