AmaZulu are sweating over the fitness of Nigerian striker Augustine Kwem.
The 26-year-old frontman has scored five goals in 14 appearances in all competitions for Usuthu this season, and four in the last three matches.
He missed the recent 1-0 DStv Premiership defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns serving a one-match suspension for four yellow cards.
But he arrived to AmaZulu’s media open day on Monday on crutches, having picked up an injury in training.
He could now be potentially out for their upcoming league clash with Sekhukhune United on Wednesday.
Head coach Pablo Franco Martin said on FARPost: “I hope he’s not injured, as you can see him today in training, we’re going to see if nothing serious happened to him.
“And we are hoping. We’ll be talking to the medical staff now after training and they said that we are going to check him.
“And if there’s nothing, he would be ready for training because it’s just a kick and a matter of how a player can handle pain. We are hoping to receive the good news that there’s no injury.”
