Antony linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce

Antony is reportedly desperate to secure a loan move from Man Utd and according to reports Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are leading the race for his services.

The Brazilian winger, 24, has faced a challenging time at Old Trafford since his 86 million pound transfer from Ajax in 2022. This season, he has managed only a single minute of Premier League play and appears to have fallen out of favor with manager Erik ten Hag.

According to The Sun, Fenerbahce, led by former United manager Mourinho, is currently the leading contender for Antony’s loan. The report indicates that Antony has expressed his desire to leave, and United are reportedly open to facilitating the move.

Interest in Antony also comes from his previous club Ajax and clubs in Spain, France, and Saudi Arabia. However, Fenerbahce is considered the front-runner, especially since their transfer window remains open until this Friday.

Antony, whose contract with United runs until 2027, is believed to earn around 200,000 pounds per week. This high wage suggests that a permanent transfer may only be feasible next summer.

A move to Fenerbahce not only brings the chance to work with Mourinho but also the opportunity to reunite with former United teammate Fred in Istanbul. Additionally, the Red Evils are scheduled to face Fenerbahce in the Europa League group stage in October.

Since joining United, Antony has scored 11 goals in 83 appearances, with only five of those in the Premier League. He currently trails Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo in the team’s attacking hierarchy. A loan to Turkey could provide the 16-cap Brazil international with the ideal environment to revitalize his career.
