Kaizer Chiefs Latest News: Kaze Optimistic as Amakhosi Aims to Reverse Kabuscorp Defeat

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze believes Amakhosi have what it takes to overturn their narrow 1-0 defeat to Kabuscorp.

The Soweto giants were left frustrated in Luanda over the weekend, failing to convert chances in a match led by Kaze and fellow assistant Khalil Ben Youssef.

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi was absent amid ongoing contract termination talks with the club.

Despite the loss, Kaze remains upbeat about Chiefs’ prospects ahead of Saturday’s crucial second leg at FNB Stadium, confident the team can rise to the occasion.

“We still have 90 minutes at home, and we are very confident. We created chances in Angola but didn’t take them. What we need in the second leg is more sharpness in front of goal,” the Amakhosi assistant was quoted by Sowetan.

The Glamour Boys will first shift focus to a Betway Premiership clash against Marumo Gallants on Wednesday, but Kaze knows all eyes are already on the weekend’s showdown.

Reflecting on the first leg, Kaze explained that Kabuscorp’s style was exactly what the technical team anticipated and he believes playing in front of the Chiefs supporters will make a huge difference.

“They relied heavily on long balls and aerial duels. For the first 10 to 15 minutes we were dominant and could have gone ahead, but we missed our chances.

After that, we gave them space to grow comfortable. Apart from the goal, they were not very dangerous,” he said.

“We know we have the quality to hurt them. If we’re clinical and aggressive, we can get the result we need.”
