Former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns forward Khama Billiat has signed with newly promoted Zimbabwean top-flight club Scottland FC.
The 34-year-old is reportedly penned a one year deal, with the option of a further year once the team has established itself in the Castle Premier League.
Billiat, who recently revived his career in Zimbabwe after leaving Chiefs, had a strong previous season in the Zimbabwean topflight, earning recognition as one of the league’s best players. He scored 13 goals (second-highest in the league) and provided 11 assists for Yadah, totaling 24 direct goal involvements.
His extensive experience, including winning the CAF Champions League and competing in the FIFA Club World Cup, will be a valuable asset to Scottland FC. Despite links to a return to South Africa’s Premier Soccer League, Billiat chose to remain in his home country.
While Scottland FC confirmed the signing via social media, contract details were not disclosed. This move marks Billiat’s second consecutive season in the Zimbabwean top flight after a decade in South African football. The club hopes his proven goal-scoring ability will help them avoid relegation in their debut season.
