Nasreddine Nabi vows to give youngsters chance to play after Samkelo Zwane shines

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi believes hard work has helped midfielder Samkelo Zwane to improve and has vowed to give youngsters more chances.

The 22-year-old Zwane was one of the top performers for Amakhosi in their 4-0 win against SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout Cup last weekend.

The midfielder played the entire match for Chiefs, making a formidable partnership with captain Yusuf Maart.

His performance has pleased Nabi, who believes all the youngsters at the club have an important role to play at the team and they will be given a chance to play whenever they prove themselves.

“It’s true that Zwane has been working hard in the past few months, and we believe that he has improved because before, there were some tactical issues and concentration because he is still young.

“Sometimes he would want to do unnecessary things. But it’s through games like this that our young players will grow.

“Not only him, but Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba and Mfundo Vilakazi. We believe that it’s a capital investment for the club to have those players coming from the academy. And we need to show that all those players are going to have a chance if they prove themselves.”

Another player who got praise is goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari, who managed to keep a clean sheet for the first time this season in four games.

“It’s a good thing, it is a good victory – but we have to congratulate Fiacre because he made some saves to allow us to get back to the game. In those critical moments he showed up. But it is the work of the entire team, all the players who were on the pitch,” said the Amakhosi mentor.
