Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane says his team cheated in the last 10 minutes against Chippa United on Saturday.
Masandawana secured a comfortable 3-0 win over the Chilli Boys, who were down to 10 men for the last 33 minutes following Sandile Mthethwa’s red card, to move back up to second position in the Absa Premiership.
Despite the result, Mosimane wasn’t best pleased with his team’s performance and admitted he had to employ unorthodox tactics.
“And we were cheating all the time in the last 10 minutes,” Mosimane told SuperSport TV.
“The ball fell on us when we were cheating, the final third, the pass, the control it fell to the player that I think has got the brains and he can do something, [Gaston] Sirino, but all what he did was miscontrol, miscontrol and miscontrol. It’s unbelievable. But I am not happy with the last 30 minutes.”
Sundowns have a busy week ahead as they will take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the league on Wednesday before facing Vaal University in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday.
Mosimane has explained that the congested schedule is the reason why he substituted Themba Zwane, who wasn’t happy to leave the field after scoring from the penalty spot just before the hour mark.
“That’s why we took out Themba Zwane,” Mosimane added.
“He was very angry at me because he says why take me out after I scored and I said it’s not about you scoring but about the Wednesday’s [game] against Bloemfontein Celtic and we have a game on Saturday.
“We have three games in six days. So we are monitoring him. He wants to play because he scored. But I had to do what I had to do and rest him.”
