Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer insists all the pressure is on Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs as they prepare for a crucial Soweto derby.
Zinnbauer’s charges have been in terrific form of late and are currently on a six-game winning streak after beating Black Leopards on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Amakhosi lost at home against Maritzburg United which has resulted in their lead being cut down to six points, and Zinnbauer reckons it’s a great time to be playing their bitter rivals.
“We don’t have pressure at the moment. We are glad to play Chiefs next. Chiefs are a little bit under pressure after losing,” Zinnbauer said, according to Sowetan Live.
“We are focused on the next game. For now it is Chiefs, but we do the same with other opponents. We don’t look at the title or if Chiefs or [Mamelodi] Sundowns can be chased down. I hope we put on a good performance for the supporters and collect another three points.”
The Buccaneers will host Ernst Middendorp’s men on Saturday 29 February, when they will have a chance to reduce the gap to the league leaders to only three points.
