Tinkler: We want to go all the way

Cape Town City

Eric Tinkler was delighted to have steered Cape Town City to ‘another final’ after their emphatic defeat of Swallows FC in their MTN8 semi-final.

After being held to a goalless draw with the Dube Birds in Cape Town in the first leg, City ran rampant at the Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.
Surprise Ralani opened the scoring on 42 minutes before Fagrie Lakay added a stylish second with 58 minutes on the clock.
Ralani then appeared to seal the win with his second of the night ten minutes later but City substitute Edmilson Dove had the final say just two minutes from time for a 4-0 win.
Tinkler led the Citizens to Telkom Knockout success during his first spell with the club.
Reflecting on his most recent achievement, that will see his side face Mamelodi Sundowns in the final on October 30, Tinkler told SuperSport: “I’m really happy to have gotten the team to another final.
“That is one of the targets that we set ourselves when I joined the club. I was obviously involved when we won the Telkom Knockout.
“I’ve been fortunate as a coach to have gotten to many finals, that hunger, passion and desire hopefully spill off on everybody else.
“I’m extremely happy and proud of the fact that we’ve managed to achieve that again.
“It’s going to be a tough one against Sundowns, but obviously we want to go out there and win the trophy.”
