Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has completed a season-long loan move to Belgian giants Anderlecht from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion.
Tau was once again unable to obtain a work permit and fulfil a lifelong dream of playing in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old was at Anderlecht’s rivals Club Brugge last season, where he made quite the impact, making an assist at the Santiago Bernabeu against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking on the club’s website following the announcement, Tau, who arrived in Brussels on Monday to put pen to paper, said: “I am part of a team that always wants to play good and attacking football. That suits me perfectly. RSCA has my style of football. We are made for each other. I will do everything I can to contribute to this team and guide the club back to where it belongs: to the top of Belgian football.”
He won the title with Brugge last season but will miss out on European competitions next season due to Anderlecht surprisingly having finished outside of the top eight for a club of their stature.
