Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is running the rule over Brazilian striker Nathan Junior, who has been training with the club since last week.
Mosimane is still looking for replacements for Percy Tau and Khama Billiat following their departure in the off-season.
The Brazilians’ mentor revealed that he spotted the striker in 2016 while on a scouting mission in Portugal.
The defending Premiership champions, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Bidvest Wits on Sunday, already have three South Americans in their squad in Ricardo Nascimento, Gaston Sirino and Jose Ali Meza.
“We are watching him. We are looking at him. We will not make a decision now. We are not really under pressure to make a decision. We will look at him. He is a good player,” Mosimane said, as quoted by Kick Off.
“I saw him when we recruited Ricardo. I went to Portugal to watch Ricardo and he was playing against Ricardo. He did well.”
