South African winger Shandre Campbell has completed a permanent move to Belgian side KV Kortrijk, bringing an end to his time at Club Brugge as he looks to establish himself as a regular in the top flight.
The 21-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the newly promoted club after making 18 senior appearances for Brugge, where he emerged as one of South Africa’s brightest young prospects.
Kortrijk sporting director Nils Vanneste welcomed the arrival of the pacey wide player, highlighting the qualities he is expected to bring to the squad.
“We are very proud to welcome Shandre Campbell to KV Kortrijk,” Vanneste said.
“With Shandre we are bringing in a player with creativity, speed and the ability to stretch defences. Despite his young age, he has already gained valuable experience in the Belgian top division and we look forward to seeing him at the Guldensporen Stadium.”
Campbell arrived in Belgium after impressing with SuperSport United, where his performances in the Premiership earned widespread attention. A product of the Pretoria club’s respected academy, he developed a reputation for his direct running, close control and willingness to attack defenders, attributes that also brought him into the South African youth national team setup.

Although opportunities at Club Brugge’s first team were limited by fierce competition for places, Campbell gained valuable experience in one of Europe’s strongest development environments while continuing his progress in Belgian football.
The move to Kortrijk offers the winger a clearer pathway to consistent first-team football at a crucial stage of his career. With the club preparing for life back in Belgium’s top division, Campbell will hope regular minutes can accelerate his development and strengthen his case for a future place in Bafana Bafana.
