While Spurs have seen several players attract interest from Betway Premiership clubs, including Rushwin Dortley who recently joined Kaizer Chiefs, Efstathiou has emphasized that the club’s priority is prepare for the new campaign.

This news could be a setback for Chiefs, who have been pursuing winger Asanele Velebayi but have had their previous bids rejected by Spurs. Similarly, Stellenbosch FC has faced rejection for their bids for Ashley Cupido.

The CEO also called for increased television coverage of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, highlighting the quality of football and the potential benefits for clubs in terms of exposure and sponsorship opportunities.

“Motsepe Foundation Championship is an interesting league with a lot of quality football, the broadcasters need to take advantage of that by showing it to people,” he added.

“Televising matches will also benefit clubs on sponsorship. Teams in the MFC are struggling without sponsors. Also, it will help our people to understand how we develop a player.

“They will see where it all started not only judge the player based on Premier League stats.”
